The first game in the series taking place in 2172, details the story of a boy named Leo Stenbuck, a colonist from Jupiter who accidentally finds himself piloting the Orbital Frame Jehuty during the Antilia Raid.
Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars (2001)[]

This side-story released for the Game Boy Advance takes place in 2173, revolving around a conspiracy involving the construction of Orbital Frames for Earth. The protagonist, a young man named Cage Midwell, finds himself getting involved with a resistance organisation known as BIS.
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (2003)[]

A civilian mining pilot, Dingo Egret, finds Jehuty buried on Jupiter's moon of Callisto two years after the events of the first game and travels to the fortress Aumaan to defeat Colonel Nohman of BAHRAM, pilot of Jehuty's sister craft, Anubis.
Zone of the Enders HD Collection (2012)[]

During E3 2011,[1] Konami announced a re-release of Zone of the Enders and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It includes updated interfaces for HD resolutions, redrawn art, PlayStation Trophy and Xbox 360 Achievement support, improved audio and rumble support. The game includes a demo for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, mirroring the first game's Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty demo. A PlayStation Vita version was announced but was later cancelled. During an event in May of 2012 the HD Collection was given a Japanese release date of October 25th. At this same event, Kojima confirmed that work on the next instalment in the Zone of the Enders series had started. On May 4th 2013, Hideo Kojima made a broadcast on a radio station that the development of Zone of the Enders 3 was cancelled due to HD Collection sales not garnering the expected revenue which he had hoped for[2].
Zone of the Enders The 2nd RUNNER : M∀RS (2018)[]

Announced on September 23rd during TGS of 2017[3], Konami unveiled a 4k resolution re-release of Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner with full VR compatibility. This remake was shown to have various other features added such as a model viewer, cinematic theatre for viewing cutscenes, Very Easy mode for newer players, expanded tutorial, minimap, enhancements to the Zoradius minigame, alternate control schemes and remastered sound design[4]. With the release of the demo and digital pre-orders on May 23rd 2018 it was unveiled that the final release date is September 6th 2018.
